Position: Analytical Chemist

Edge Analytical is an environmental analytical laboratory running EPA and Standard Methods protocols, seeking a full-time, experienced Analytical Chemist in Burlington, WA.  We are looking for a long term commitment.  If you do not meet all of the requirements listed below, we will train starting at a lower salary in anticipation that when you develop the skill set needed compensation increases.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field of study with enough chemistry coursework to satisfy EPA SWDA
  • Pass Initial Demonstration of Capabilities (IDC) for EPA methods related to Drinking Water
  • Priority given to those with drinking water chemistry lab experience
  • The candidate must have a strong attention to detail and have good organizational and multitasking skills for the planning and executing of daily/weekly work schedule
  • Be able to handle changes to schedule as priority testing arises
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Data analysis and reporting experience as well as instrument operation and maintenance
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to think critically

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reagents
  • Sample preparations, extractions or digestions
  • Follow EPA and Standard Method protocols. Read and meet the requirements of these methods through following the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Sample tracking, organizing and storage
  • Work independently and with others within the department
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear required safety PPE as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Edge Analytical is team oriented and the candidate must be able to work within the team as well as be self-motivated to accomplish individual responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year

Position: Analytical Technician

Edge Analytical is an environmental analytical laboratory, an essential service, seeking an entry-level Analytical Technician in Burlington, WA.

Qualifications:

  • Lab experience a plus
  • The candidate must have a strong attention to detail and have good organizational and multitasking skills for the planning and executing of daily/weekly work schedule.
  • Be able to handle changes to schedule as priority testing arises.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Data analysis and reporting experience as well as instrument operation and maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to think critically.

Position responsibilities:

  • Prepare reagents (gravimetric and volumetric)
  • Sample preparations, extractions or digestions
  • Restock general laboratory supplies
  • Follow EPA and Standard Method protocols. Read and meet the requirements of these methods through following the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Sample tracking, organizing and storage
  • Work independently and with others within the department
  • Follow safety guidelines and wear required safety PPE as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Edge Analytical is team oriented and the candidate must be able to work within the team as well as be self-motivated to accomplish individual responsibilities.

Time Commitment: Full time 40/week. Monday-Friday business hours.

Compensation:

  • Salaried DOE (Starting Salary $37,169 Annually)
