UCMR2 Regulations

When must UCMR2 be tested?

  • January 2008-December 2010
  • For ground water: Twice, 5 to 7 months apart
  • For surface water: 4 times, every three months

Who must test for list 1*?

  • All PWSs serving more than 10,000 people
  • A representative sample of 800 PWSs serving 10,000 people or fewer.

Who must test for list 2*?

  • All PWSs serving more than 100,000 people
  • 320 selected PWSs serving 10,001-100,000 people
  • 480 selected PWSs serving 10,000 or fewer people

Where must I test?

  • Every entry point in the system must be sampled
  • DSMRTs for List 2 nitrosamines
