Company History
Edge Analytical was incorporated on August 1, 1980 as Materials Testing & Consulting. The company provided testing services of concrete products. The business was very seasonal, busy in the summer and almost idle in the winter. In order to even the workflow and be able to provide year round employment, MTC expanded into environmental testing in 1989.
By the early 1990's revenues from environmental testing were surpassing revenues from concrete testing, and the decision was made to refocus the business to a full service chemistry lab. In 1995, the concrete testing services provided by MTC were sold and the corporate name was changed to Edge Analytical Inc.
This business started in a 10'x10' concrete structure on rented property, and then moved to a barn behind the home of the current company president. In late 1992, we moved into our own 4,000 sq ft building on property owned by the Port of Skagit County. In 2004, a microbiology lab was opened in Bellingham, WA. The latest move brought Edge Analytical into a state-of-the-art, 10,500 square foot laboratory in an easy access location.
Two employees have become twenty-five. Our markets are rapidly changing from local and state to national and international. We know that our continued success is due to our commitment to small town values and our personal involvement with each client. While we look forward to the continued growth of Edge Analytical, we are determined to stay true to the core values responsible for our success.
